Wind turbines are exposed to full weather conditions by their very nature. The bases in particular use high-mass concrete, and achieving maximum strength is critical for obvious reasons.
AQURON 300 admixture was chosen for this 14m dia turbine base to reduce drying shrinkage, reduce the heat of hydration and achieve early strength gains. Allowing 650m3 to be poured in one day without surface cracking and enabling installation 28 days ahead of schedule.
