What is the BASE-TECT system, and how is it used for basement waterproofing?

The BASE-TECT system is a multi-part solution specifically designed for basement waterproofing. It is designed specific to the needs of a given project and site. Elements may include bonded membranes, waterproofing admixtures, spray-applied treatments, and delayed-swell waterstop gaskets. BASE-TECT is adaptable for Type A, Type B and Combined waterproofing systems according to BS8102:2022 guidelines.

Can MARKHAM’s waterproofing solutions be applied to roof decks and podium slabs?

Yes, the TOP-TECT system is designed for roof decks and podium slabs, utilising similar advanced waterproofing technologies as our basement solutions. This system ensures elevated concrete structures are protected from water ingress, providing the same high level of durability and waterproofing as sub-grade structures.

What warranty is available?

For the full TECT system MARKHAM experience, a project-specific warranty will be offered. These performance warranties are typically a minimum of 15 years. For product supply only, where application is outside MARKHAM control, warranty is limited to replacement of product.

Can paint, line-marking or industrial coatings be applied over hydrogel-treated concrete?

Yes. The hydrogel treatment creates fresh C-S-H inside the concrete - concreteʼs own building molecule. There is nothing foreign introduced. There is no residual coating. Therefore any coating or paint designed to be applied to bare concrete can safely be applied to hydrogel-treated concrete.
