Chermside Library – an Award Winner
The builder of the Chermside Library and Community Hub won the 2017 Master Builders Brisbane ‘Community Service Facility’ Award.
It was a privilege to have been involved in a community project of this quality. The library and community hub have proved to be an active centre in this part of northern Brisbane.
Car park floor slabs need protection against tyre abrasion and traffic load; exhaust fumes; and contaminants carried in with rain and road water on the vehicles. All these things can adversely affect the concrete or its reinforcing steel.
For sealing and long-term durability, MARKHAM supplied and applied AQURON 1000 penetrating hydrogel for the basement car park. This approach is now incorporated into MARKHAM’S INFRA-TECT® system.
As a bonus, this treatment does not contribute to tyre squeal!
