Gordon Dam Intake Tower

Location:

Tasmania

Country:

Australia

Project Type:

Civil / Infrastructure | Marine

Project Scale:

0 – 5,000 m²

Gordon Dam is a major part of Hydro Tasmania’s water supply system.

In 2013, AQURON 2000 and AQURON 7000 were applied to the dam’s intake tower for ASR remediation and extension of the concrete structure’s service life.

These treatments are part of the CIVIL-TECT system for increasing the durability of civil concrete infrastructure. The moisture-immobilising feature of the penetrating hydrogel treatment means that the concrete is densified, and moisture cannot migrate around inside the concrete. This arrests moisture-driven deterioration mechanisms, including ASR and DEF, as well as corrosion.
