Ingham Flood Bridge (Vic Sivyer Bridge)
Location:
Innisfail, QLD
Country:
Australia
Project Type:
Civil / Infrastructure | Waterproofing
Project Scale:
0 – 5,000 m²
The Ingham Flood Bridge (Vic Sivyer Bridge), built before 1949, is a vital piece of infrastructure in North Queensland. Over the decades, it has withstood harsh environmental challenges, including heavy rains, floods, and a tropical climate – conditions that accelerate concrete deterioration and threaten structural integrity.
In 2011, hydrogel waterproofing treatments were applied using the CIVIL-TECT system to safeguard the bridge. This advanced solution waterproofed the concrete deck slabs, enhancing durability and protecting against moisture ingress. By addressing these vulnerabilities, the treatment has been instrumental in maintaining the bridge’s condition and extending its service life.
As a result, the Ingham Flood Bridge is now better equipped to endure North Queensland’s demanding conditions. This project demonstrates the value of MARKHAM’s innovative solutions in preserving heritage infrastructure while reducing long-term maintenance costs.
