The project is at Palmerston North, New Zealand.
The project team required a durable solution to assist with curing, provide waterproofing, improve surface hardness, and ensure abrasion resistance for a car park spanning over 13,000m2.
Compatibility with line marking and effective joint sealing were also key requirements.
AQURON 1000 was chosen for its superior performance in concrete curing and deep internal hardening. Double saw cuts were applied over each side of the beams and above every precast intersection. These were then sealed with joint sealant to ensure long-term durability.
The solution covered the entire deck, enhancing the concrete’s longevity and performance.
The asset owner benefited from a robust, long-lasting car park surface that met all project requirements, including curing assistance, waterproofing, and increased abrasion resistance. The added precision of joint sealing ensured minimal cracking, enhanced structural integrity, and improved protection against wear and tear, guaranteeing the carpark’s longevity and usability.
Here we’ve got side-by-side pictures from the original construction along with our re-visit in 2024!
