Country:

Australia

Project Type:

Civil / Infrastructure | Waterproofing

Project Scale:

0 – 5,000 m²

The Yeppen South Floodplain Bridge is a 1.6 km elevated highway just south of Rockhampton, Queensland – it is designed to maintain road access in times of flood events, being 3.5 metres higher than the old highway.

AQURON 2000 and AQURON 7000 treatments were utilised in 2014 both at the precast yards and on the bridge slabs, to alleviate DEF risk, and assist in compensating for low cover issues.

For Department of Transport and Main Roads, the CIVIL-TECT system provides enhanced durability to the extensive precast elements in this project.  No reapplication is needed, greatly decreasing the maintenance costs long-term.
