Protecting car park floor slabs at John Gorton Campus
John Gorton Campus is part of the University of Canberra. In 2024-25 a new multi-level car park was erected next to the John Gorton Building on campus.
Car park floor slabs need protection.
Guess what uses a car park? Cars. And car tyres.
Car tyres, including the contaminated moisture they carry, are the biggest threat to the lifespan of car park slabs.
Multi-level protection
That’s why INFRA-TECT® options were selected for this project, including the moisture barrier option for the top level. Penetrating nanoparticle hydrogel treatments form a hydrogel within the concrete itself, and can never be worn away.
Permanent and sustainable protection
Concrete hydrogel treatments do not need re-application later in life. They are preserved deep in the matrix of the concrete porosity.
The treatments are nil VOC, environmentally safe, and sustainably sourced.
