Adding Life to Concrete – How MARKHAM applied hydrogel waterproofing systems to Berth 34 in Dublin Port, Ireland.
MARKHAM were tasked with providing a waterproofing and reinforcement bar protection system for sections of the new concrete forming the area known as Berth 34 in Dublin Port. While the concrete was new, there were issues with its placement, and consequently, some quite significant cracking occurred.
To address this situation, the MARKHAM objective was to provide a waterproofing solution that would protect the concrete from the ingress of water and salts, and protect the reinforcement bar from corrosion resulting from this ingress.
