MARKHAM were tasked with providing a waterproofing and durability enhancement system for this 130-year-old concrete capped sea wall structure in St Helier, Jersey – the Havre Des Pas Lido. This was part of an overall refurbishment program on the concrete capping of the wall which was undertaken due to the concrete having been attacked extensively by Alkali Silica Reaction (ASR) which had caused a lot of damage to the structure.
Halting existing and limiting further degradation to the concrete was the key objective with this project.
