Waikawa Breakwall – MARKHAM Case Study

Waikawa Breakwall - Marine Concrete Durability | MARKHAM Project

Robust protection needed

A robust marine concrete durability solution was required at the Waikawa Breakwall project to ensure long-term durability in a highly corrosive environment. MARKHAM provided internal protection at the time of construction using catalytic silica waterproofing admixture designed to inhibit corrosion and extend the service life of concrete in marine structures.

Protected internally

Concrete deterioration typically commences from within. Hence the importance of internal protection.
