AQURON 2000 MEDI+ is a spray-applied colloidal silica enhanced hydrogel treatment for new and existing concrete.
AQURON 2000 MEDI+ concrete hygiene protection is a acrylic modified variant of the original AQURON 2000 concrete treatment, enhanced to protect internal & surface against moisture-borne contaminants, including bio-fluids.
AQURON 2000 MEDI+ is a spray applied, non-toxic, acrylic modified colloidal silica with a unique reactive catalyst and deep penetrating action that forms a internal and surface concrete protection..

HYGIENE CONTROL inside the CONCRETE
- Locks up moisture inside the concrete – preventing migration
- Seals the concrete porosity to a depth of 150mm, preventing the entrance or internal
movement of moisture and contaminants. - Internal hydrogel barrier against ingress urine, blood, laboratory substances and cleaning chemicals.
Optional antibacterial & antifungal additive is available that further prevents contaminants such as urine, blood, laboratory substances, and cleaning chemicals avoiding odours and microbial growth.

How AQURON 2000 MEDI+ Spray-on works.
The core technology is colloidal silica hydrogel.
When spray applied to concrete, the nano-size colloidal silica reacts with the calcium hydroxide in the pore water to penetrate into the concrete pores to depths of 150mm to form a stable, polymerized, colloidal silica hydrogel in the pores and porosity.

Colloidal silica particles are nano-size
This hydrogel over time reaches strengths similar to Calcium Silicate Hydrate (cement paste). Its most important function though, at any age, is that it stops moisture migration through the concrete porosity. Once the reaction has taken place, and the hydrogel is formed, it is permanent and cannot be reversed or removed, it becomes part of the concrete itself.
Colloidal silica hydrogels are nano-size and able to work in the nano-size concrete pores. A typical concrete pore is around 50 nanometres, and colloidal silica is in the range of 5-20 nanometres in size.
For scale, a human hair is 100,000 nanometres.

Applied over a number of passes
AQURON 2000 Medi+ penetrating hydrogel is a spray-applied. The sprayer must have sufficient pressure and tip size to atomise the spray. AQURON 2000 Medi+ can be applied to new or existing concrete.
- Applied over a number of passes
- Coverage rate of about 5 m² per litre, depending on the absorbency of the concrete.
- Nil VOC content = 100 % Safe for installers, marine and animal life
