Protecting the Project Gemini Data Centre
Modern data centres place extraordinary demands on construction materials. High heat loads, sensitive electronics and the need for long-term structural resilience require careful planning well before the very first pour of concrete.
Data centres run on servers. The servers are surrounded by concrete.
For the Project Gemini Data Centre in Takanini, Auckland, MARKHAM recommended and installed MARKHAM multi-part waterproofing to all concrete slabs to protect against water leaks in these extremely moisture-sensitive server halls.
Waterproof the Concrete Itself
The system involves waterproofing the concrete mix itself with hydrogel concrete waterproofing admixture and curing and anti-dust sealing the slabs with spray-applied AQURON 2000.
These treatments are wrapped into the INFRA-TECT® approach, for exposed concrete protection. It reduces maintenance over the life of the structure, and extends the service life of the concrete.
