Cardinia Community Aged Care – Context
The care centre was built in 2021-22. At time of construction the project was labelled Croft Officer, tying together the developer and the suburb name.
Croft Developments is the construction arm of Signature Care, who own and operate the facility.
Moisture and Hygiene Control Under Floor Coverings
MARKHAM’s involvement in the construction project was two-pronged.
We applied penetrating hygiene and moisture control treatments to the concrete slabs under floor coverings. This provides protection against the ingress of urine and other bio-fluids.
This treatment is an option to our FLOOR-TECT® system.
Protection of Exposed Concrete
A related hydrogel treatment was applied to external exposed concrete for protection against weathering and premature deterioration.
INFRA-TECT® is a versatile and effective approach for exposed concrete where a sheen is not desirable; for example, car parks and footpaths.
A total of about 13,400 m2 of concrete was treated through the project.
