For The Rees Hotel, in Queenstown, MARKHAM specified and installed AQURON 7000 Concrete Treatment to protect the concrete-reinforcing steel from embedded steel deterioration.
This treatment for this project formed the CIVIL-TECT system, applied in retrospect to existing concrete with corrosion underway.
The system in this case can halt active corrosion – the treatment penetrates 150mm into the concrete and reacts with available moisture to that depth to create a gel.
This gel utilises all the free moisture and prevents it from reacting further, taking it out of the corrosion equation.
