Mirnyan Primary School – Background
Known for convenience during construction as Thompson West Primary School, the Mirnyan Primary School was constructed in 2023-24 as part of the Victorian School Building Authority ongoing program for new school facilities in growth areas.
Multiple Concrete Protections
MARKHAM’s involvement in the construction project was two-pronged.
We applied penetrating hygiene and moisture control treatments to the concrete slabs under floor coverings. This provides protection against the ingress of urine and other bio-fluids.
This treatment is an option to our FLOOR-TECT® system.
Protection of Exposed Concrete
A related hydrogel treatment was applied to external exposed concrete for protection against weathering and premature deterioration.
INFRA-TECT® is a versatile and effective approach for exposed concrete where a sheen is not desirable; for example, car parks and footpaths.
A total of over 5,000 m2 of concrete was treated through the project.
